GSCS conducts various programs outside the regular co-curricular activities of sporting events and camps. Some of these events include: Talent Quest, Easter Arts Festival, Father’s Day breakfast, a Business Day, Hike-for-Hope, Grandparents’ Day and National Tree Planting Day.
Annually GSCS remembers those who fought and gave their lives during two World War campaigns for our nation’s freedom. A number of guests, many current and past servicemen and women, are invited to speak to students on this occasion and every year the response grows larger. Australia’s Heritage has strong focus at GSCS and our Anzac Day service forms a pinnacle of this.
As a part of our GSCS multicultural program, a day is set aside each year for International Day. Students are invited to dress in multi-cultural apparel for the day with parents being encouraged to participate with their children in a range of multi-cultural activities and cuisine.
Each year GSCS hold their student Talent Quest, giving our students an opportunity to showcase their talents in acting, vocal and instrumental performances. A guaranteed fun night is provided for our whole school community along with money being raised for the school’s music program.
Each year our school celebrates Mother’s Day with an afternoon tea for mothers of students attending GSCS. Our senior school students prepare food for this event which is enjoyed during a wonderful afternoon of fellowship, appreciated by all mothers. At the end of the event, each mother is presented with a gift to say ‘thank you’ for being a mum.Top of Page
