Senior School
Senior School Years 10-12
As students step into the final chapter of their secondary education, our senior school program is designed to cultivate not only academic excellence but also ensure they are deeply rooted in their Christian faith. Our commitment goes beyond preparing students for higher education; we strive to foster a Christ-centered environment where they can explore their beliefs, build a solid spiritual foundation and emerge as resilient, compassionate, servant leaders ready to impact the world.
Students receive career guidance and various opportunities to explore career options. Set plans are established in year 10. Year 10s are provided opportunities where possible to start earning QCE points before year 11.
At Good Shepherd Christian School the year 11-12 education program is designed to prepare and equip students for life after school. We aim to provide all students with an in-depth understanding of the world around them to ensure they graduate as well-educated, independent young adults, ready for life in the world and eternity. These two years are essential for each student to develop as a unique person of worth, to choose appropriate academic and career pathways, and to graduate as a person of integrity to impact the world for Christ.
The focus in Senior School is on leadership. Students learn to apply the principles and skills of leadership to their own study and lives.
Many opportunities are provided for them to develop and demonstrate their servant-leadership qualities in the school and local community.
The Senior School curriculum allows students to follow academic pathways leading to both the award of an ATAR, and Vocational Pathways which lead to School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships, work experience or employment. All subjects offered in Years 11 and 12 can contribute to the achievement of a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
“Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”
