School Principal’s Report

It is hard to believe how quickly the school year has passed and come to and end. I would like to thank
you for your faith, trust, and commitment to the ministry of Good Shepherd Christian School. We
respect the sacrifices each family makes to send their child to Good Shepherd, and we will continue
to put your child first in everything we do. This was a very busy year and you, as partners in
education, played a great role in making it a success.
Although it is a hectic time of year, it is the time when I most realise how blessed we all are to be
part of the ministry of Good Shepherd. Parents and teachers commit their time and energy every
day toward creating a nurturing environment in which children can thrive.
A special congratulations goes to our Year 9 students who excelled in their NAPLAN results across all
test areas. All Year 3, 5, 7 & 9 students scored well in Reading, Grammar & Punctuation, with
exceptional results being achieved in numeracy by our Year 5 students.
A special thank you goes to our parents, students and staff who worked together to raise money for
missions and also our school library. The students were able to raise support for nine missionaries this
year. The students also participated in a successful read-a-thon which raised $2300 for books for the
school library. The students chose the books they wanted to donate and are helping to develop a
library developed by students for students.
Finally, I would like to thank not only all our staff, but also all those people who have given so willingly
of their time to make the school what it is as volunteers - board members, P&C members, parent
support at events and fund raisers. Our school could not run without your contribution: your work
does so much to make our school what it is.
Parents, students and staff, thank you for a wonderful year. I hope you have a fantastic summer.

Rhonda Davis
Principal
